I have worked with students and their families, adults, and couples as a teacher, mentor, and counselor for over 30 years. Recently I retired from The University of Mississippi Student Counseling Center, to focus on a private practice. I counsel adolescents, individuals, couples and families addressing a variety of concerns. I specialize in working with people as they deal with life transitions and assisting as they adjust to difficult challenges such as loss and grief, trauma, separation and divorce. I enjoy working with people as they face major decisions or assisting in the utilization of techniques to enhance performance in school or in the workplace. I am passionate about assisting people reach their full potential in life.

I use a variety of methods such as mindfulness, hypnosis, EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioral and relaxation techniques. My counseling style is eclectic and my sessions generally begin with Person Centered and Narrative therapy as I feel every individual is unique and their story is the backdrop of an individual’s way of dealing with life. I attempt to provide an accepting, comfortable environment to explore life issues in a way that is helpful for each person I work with. I want my clients to work on their issues at the pace that is comfortable for them and I offer suggestions and referrals for other services that may enhance the therapeutic experience.
