Life is a beautiful journey but it’s path is undeniably filled with “pitfalls” that can ensnare us, imprison us, and rob us of hope and joy. My goal is to walk alongside you when you feel “stuck”, and help you find the key that unlocks the door to your freedom once again.

I am a Board Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Mississippi – license #1112. In 2002, I graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, with a Master of Divinity / Emphasis in Counseling Degree, and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy Degree. I provide individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy for issues including: depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, couples communication, infidelity, abuse, self esteem, mood swings, anger problems, and substance abuse/addiction.

I believe that all human beings are created in the image of God with immutable and immeasurable dignity and value. Unfortunately all kinds of excruciatingly painful life events, relationships, and choices can distort our views of self, others, and God, and cause us to feel “worth less” than we truly are. I am a person-centered, relationship-oriented therapist with an approach to therapy that is rooted in systems theory and informed by psychodynamic principles. I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and the practice of Mindfulness. Using this multi-faceted perspective I enjoy helping people find healing from emotional wounds in their past, and break free from unhelpful thought patterns and false core beliefs that keep them imprisoned to unwanted, destructive behavior patterns in the here and now.

The Swiss psychiatrist, Dr. Carl Jung, said “Neurosis is always a substitute for legitimate suffering.” I believe that it is our attempts to cope with pain by consciously, and unconsciously, finding unhealthy ways to avoid it that keep us locked in our neurotic prisons of depression, anxiety, addiction, anger, etc.
It’s safe here to face your fears. Together we can discover the path that leads to your freedom!

In my spare time I enjoy running and training, playing tennis, hacking around on my guitar, and taking my two young daughters, Gibson and Beth, to the park.
